    Carolina Yacht Club

Priding itself of being one of the oldest yacht clubs in the United States, the Carolina Yacht Club maintains its tradition of sailing in the context of merrymaking...

Nobody, among the seven men who loved sailing, dreamt of founding a club for yachtsmen like them in 1853. All that Daniel Baker, Richard Bradley, Talcott Burr, T.M. Gardner, Richard Jones, Parker Quince, and John Reston wanted to do was enjoy the exhilarating experience of bouncing off waves during regattas on the river, sound, and sea and culminated their victories into partying. None of the founders may have survived up to these years, but their legacy as pursued by over one thousand members lives on.

    Sailing Events
The Carolina Yacht Club has already plotted its sailing events for the entire of 2007. This includes regattas, of course, of which the New Year Regatta had been held. The months of January to April have regattas title "Laser Frostbites #1, #2, #3, #4", respectively. Around May, the Carolina Yacht Club hosts the Dorman Cup Regatta, Laser Masters, Funsail Kickoff, the Sound Series #1, and another Funsail by the end of the month.

Another regatta is scheduled in June titled the "Lightning Regatta", which should be exciting from the sound of it, but sailors especially the young yachtsmen are encouraged to watch out for that. The regattas and other sailing activities end on December 1st of this year, which also marks the last of the Fall Series. Junior sailing events have not been announced been announced by the club.

    Private Events
The Carolina Yacht Club clubhouse accepts events hosting although it must be booked a year in advance. However, this privilege is made exclusive for members of the Carolina Yacht Club only. The club is quite strict on this part and maintains that members are not allowed to sponsor entertainment events of non-members. In turn, non-members cannot co-host any private parties at the club.

The club is known for its sailing and partying activities. Aside from that, members can warm up, relax, and enjoy the amenities offered by the club. The club has apartments and cottages that are open for rent to its members. The Carolina Yacht Club apartments feature 3 bedrooms, a living room, dining room, and a bathroom. Each apartment is also built with a back porch furnished with rockers.

Experience a cozy atmosphere in the club as well as lots of sailing activities. Members can find a respite in the apartment living rooms with large windows that offers a panoramic, sparkling view of the ocean.
